Cheryl D. Hauge, age 73, of Sidney, NE passed away at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE on Friday evening August 25, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Faith Methodist in Sidney, NE with Pastor Corey Jenkins officiating. Family will greet friends at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney, NE. Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website.

Cheryl Diane (Helgeson) Hauge, the daughter of Hartman Orvin and Arlene Shirley (Hanson) Helgeson, was born on July 4, 1950, in Minneapolis, MN. Cheryl graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Bloomington, MN., where she was active in many clubs and activities including being a member of the Honor Society, Y-Teens, Pep Club, she was nominated Trackorama Princess, and as a Winter formal attendant. She was in the Concert Choir and was also in an elite, handpicked singing group called the JB's.
On June 27, 1970, Cheryl was united in marriage to Bruce Hauge in Richfield, MN. They made their home in Lincoln, NE where Cheryl was a homemaker. Cheryl and her family moved to Sidney in 1980. Cheryl was a Jazzercise instructor for 8 years while raising her children. She worked as an administrative assistant in a law office and later at Prestolite Wire Corporation and Cabela's Retail Operations. She was in several women's groups, singing groups, and local theater productions including sorority, bible study, Colonels, Way Out West productions, and the church choir. She dedicated her time by volunteering for the church through teaching Sunday school and vacation bible school. She graciously helped with Meals on Wheels.
Her passions included movies, musicals, plays, singing and dancing, shopping, golfing, reading, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Immediate survivors include her three children, Paul and (Lauren) of Dallas/Ft. Worth, Amy (Jim) Jackson of Omaha, and Brian (Melissa) of Chicago; six grandchildren, Sydney Hauge, Aidan and Aila Jackson and Katelyn, Brooke and Haley Hauge; sister Kathryn (Daron) Applequist of Savage, sister Nancy (Al) Reiser of Lincoln, along with nephew Shaun, niece Jennifer, nephew Scott (Ashtyn), brother Bill (Kristin) Helgeson of Kirkland, sister Peggy (Randy) Hamann of Rosemount, along with niece Kristin (Curt) Nelson, nephew Michael (Leigh), nephew Brandon (Pam), nephew Ryan (Kristina), sister Rebecca (Mario) Ayala of Minneapolis, nephews Parker and Matthew, brother Jeff Helgeson (Allison) of Lynchburg, and numerous extended family members and friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband Bruce, father Hartman, mother Arlene and brother Steve.
