SIDNEY-- On Wednesday, August 22, Teresa Grant of Sidney was critically injured in a one-vehicle accident when her 2010 Ford F-150 Super Cab Pick-Up collided with the 13th Avenue bridge railing.
It is believed by the Cheyenne County Sheriffs' Department that Grant was driving westbound on Hickory Street when Grant suffered some type of medical emergency which caused her to lose consciousness and drive directly into the bridge railing at the top of the 13th Avenue underpass that heads to the North Side of Sidney.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:13 in the afternoon. First responders were immediately on the scene and extricated Grant from the vehicle that bent the guard rail on the bridge and broke away some of the concrete on the bridge which fell down onto 13th Avenue. Police and clean-up crews quickly cleared the street of debris, and after a short delay, traffic on the north bound side of 13th Ave. was allowed to pass. Grant was taken to Sidney Regional Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.
