Co-Ed Softball Season Winding Down with Championship Game on August 15

The Cheyenne County Community Center's Co-Ed Softball League is winding down, and August 14th's slate of games helped determine August 15th's matchups for the championship game. Monday's action had the Bad News Bears facing off with Ump Yurz on Field 1 at 6 p.m. while the Dalton Dingers matched up against the Red Hot Aces on Field 2. The Bad News Bears were able to take down Ump Yurz to advance in the winner's bracket, while the Dalton Dingers prevailed over the Red Hot Aces to move forward in the winners bracket also. Tuesday's 6 p.m. games featured the Bad News Bears versus Creekside on Field 1, and the Dalton Dingers against the MashUps on Field 2. At 7:15 p.m., the losers of the Bad New Bears/Creekside game will play the winner of the Dalton Dingers/MashUps game. At 8:15 p.m. the winner of the 6 p.m. Bad News Bears/Creekside game will face off against the winner of the 7:15 p.m. for the division 2 Championship.

The league has been great fun for the participants, if challenged by stormy weather more frequently than usual during this time of the year. Good times and good friends were made by all the participants, with the emphasis on fun, rather than winning. That's not to say that winning wasn't important or that the players weren't competitive, but the key takeaway to the season is that everyone enjoyed themselves, win or lose.
