Keith A. Rapp, age 71, of Sidney, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 28, 2023 at The Evangelical Free Church in Sidney, NE with Pastor Kyle Larson & Pastor Scotty Ray officiating. Cremation has been held. Inurnment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney. Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website. Memorials may be made in care of the family for later designation.

Keith Allen Rapp was born March 24, 1952 in Sidney, NE to Mourine and Margaret (Oram)Rapp. He graduated from Sidney High School in 1970 and went on to attend NJC in Sterling, CO. In November of 1972 he married Cheryl (Kelsey) MacKenzie. 2 daughters were born of this marriage, Patty & Kim. Keith and Cheryl divorced in 1988 but they remained good friends until his death.
Keith farmed and raised cattle north of Sidney most of his life. In the early 80's he worked for Terry Beutler at BEST Reality and Auction as an Auctioneer and a Realtor. He later bought the business from Terry's son Scott and ran the Auction business up until his stroke in 2010 when he could no longer "Rapp" the auctioneer's cry. Keith also worked for Chappell and Ogallala Livestock having many duties over the years with the most current of taking internet bids at the sales and consigning cattle. Everywhere he went he knew someone and could talk to anyone. He also loved to dance. In his retirement years he enjoyed the Wednesday night club, and stopping in at the Rusty Bucket after sale days to visit with friends. He also enjoyed helping numerous friends with their brandings.
Keith is survived by his daughters, Patty & husband John McEvoy of Wahoo, NE & Kim & husband Tim Johnson of Chappell, NE, grandchildren, Maddy Johnson of Ayr, NE, Trevor & wife Lauren McEvoy & Justin McEvoy of Omaha, NE, great grandsons, Kash Wilkinson & Grayson McEvoy, sister and brother-in-law Marlene and Jim Higgins and their children.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
