Virgil C. Walters, age 93, of Sidney, departed this earth at sunrise on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 to join his wife, Joyce. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Prairie West Church in Potter, NE with Pastor Warren Cico officiating. Cremation has been held. Services will conclude at the church. Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website.

Virgil and Joyce were married for 63 years and farmed in the Sidney Draw. He raised registered Herefords with his parents Helen (Klentz) and Chet Walters until 1980.
He is survived by his sons Steve and wife Kathy, Jerel and wife Jayne, and David and partner Jenny, and his daughter-in-law JoAnne Walters Makris and husband George. Surviving grandchildren and great grandchildren are Matthew and his children Ryan and Audrey; Lisa and husband Chad Carstensen and their children Emily, Henry and Myles; Sariah and her daughter Auriella; Santha; Lehi and his children Derek and Mila; Dieter and wife Alisha and their children Lo and Grey; Tegan and husband Joshua Gardner and their son Jhettezenn; Torben and wife Raina and their children Kayzlie, Tenneson, Drexton and Rigden; Brigham and wife Barbara and their children Lilyana, Brigham, Juliana, Aubriana and Hiram; Brogan and wife Jessica and their children Chet, August, Ezra and Arlo; JaKota and wife Chyenne; Daniel; and Christopher.
Virgil is predeceased by his granddaughter Jozenn, his wife, his parents and his sisters Violet and Vernell.
