Clinton L. Peters Sr., age 84 of Chappell, NE passed away in Sidney on Saturday, June 24, 2023.
Full military honors will be rendered at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE at a later date to be announced.

Clinton L. Peters Sr. was born on September 19, 1938 in Chappell, NE to LeRoy Henry Peters and Ruth Evelyn (Johnson) Peters. He attended school in Chappell, NE where he participated in Band, 8th through 12th grade, Football 9th, 11th, and 12th grade, and Boys Chorus. After completing school, Clinton joined the United States Navy in 1957. While in the Navy, Clinton traveled to many different countries and crossed many different oceans. The Philippines, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam to name a few. After 21 years of Naval service, several tours through the Vietnam, and many peace time missions, Clinton retired at the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class with an Honorable discharge. Clinton loved the Navy.
In 1965 Clinton was married to Barbara Ann Paris and conceived a son named Clinton LeRoy "Lee" Peters Jr. Lee spent the last several months, caring for his father, Clinton, until his passing on June 24, 2023.
Upon returning home from service in 1978, Clinton worked at many different jobs throughout his life. He joined his brother J.D. Peters in his construction business from 1978 to 1982. He worked for the Deuel County Road Dept from 1982 to 1993 when he joined Hugh M. Woods driving a delivery truck from 1993 to 2000. Clinton joined the Adams Co. Public Works Dept in Adams County Colorado and finally retired back to Chappell, NE in 2003.
On February 10, 1984, Clinton married his high school crush, Beverly Chloe (Brestel) Krause in Adams County, CO. They spent their remaining life together until May 15, 2018 when Bev passed away after a long-term fight with cancer.
Clinton is survived by his son Clinton "Lee" Peters Jr. and companion Denise M. Morlan of Pueblo, CO., his step-daughter, Patricia Shulman and husband David Shulman of Sparks, NV., his step-son Michael Krause of Calhoun, GA., his brothers, J.D. Peters of Chappell, NE., Bob Peters and wife Fran Peters of Rushville, NE. Clinton is also survived by his nieces, nephews, their spouses, and multiple grandchildren.
Clinton is preceded in death by his wife Beverly Chloe Peters of Chappell, NE, his parents LeRoy and Ruth Peters of Chappell, NE, and his sister-in-law Deena Peters.
