Cheri E. Glanz, age 74, of Sidney, NE passed away peacefully in her home with husband of 47 years by her side, after a courageous battle with lymphoma/leukemia on Friday, June 2, 2023.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney, NE with Pastor Chad Rademacher officiating. Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at the Grant Fairview Cemetery in Grant, NE at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 9, 2023. Memorials in Cheri's name can be made to University of Colorado Anschutz oncology department C/O Dr. Kamdar or Hospice of the Plains.

Cheri was born August 26th, 1948 to Catherine (Ochsner) Borgens in Ogallala NE. She was raised on the family farm north of Grant with her mother and grandparents. She attended country school until the age of nine. She then moved to Sidney and attended Sidney Public Schools. On October 23rd, 1975, she married the love of her life, Les Glanz. She went on to pursue a career at Sidney Memorial Hospital both full and part time for over 20 years. She then accepted a position at Cabela's in 1987 and retired in 2016. After retirement she worked for Kids Corner and Sloan Estates.
Cheri enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in all their school and sporting events. Her most treasured moments were those she shared with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a sports enthusiast and loved to watch college football, volleyball, basketball, & baseball especially the Huskers. Cheri was an animal lover, especially her dogs and cats.
Cheri is survived by her husband Leslie (Les), her 4 children Carrie Glanz of Laramie, WY; April Huaracha of St Mary's, KS; Trent Glanz of Scottsbluff; Travis Glanz and wife Carrie of Sidney. 10 grandchildren Kayla Beaty and husband Brad of Fergus Falls MN; Jessica Glanz and significant other Emmanuel Osinowo of Dallas TX; Aubrey Hauracha of Denver, CO; Alex Hauracha and significant other Michaela of St. Mary's, KS; Abe Hauracha of St. Mary's, KS; Izaak Glanz of Chadron, NE; Conner Glanz and significant other Madison of Kearney, NE; Sierra Glanz of Scottsbluff, NE; Cole and Austin Glanz of Sidney; 3 great grandchildren Cooper Beaty; Koralyn & Zaria Osinowo. She is also survived by several cousins.
Preceded in death by son, Cory Glanz; mother, Catherine Borgens; mother and father-in-law John & Opal Glanz; son-in-law, Andrew Huaracha.
