Robert Frank Deaver was born January 2, 1939 in Sidney to Frank and Esther (Nightingale) Deaver. He grew up on a farm outside of Sidney and attended Sidney Public Schools.
On May 20, 1960, he married the love of his life, Sharon Lambert. To this union four children were born: Carol, Patty, Ron and Don.
Bob was very much born and raised into farming. He worked a few years for the Egging Co but, then went to work for Hruska Land and Cattle Co. and what was supposed to be a temporary job turned into 40 years.
Upon retirement in 2004 Bob and Sharon became snowbirds and would winter in Yuma, Arizona for the following 10 years until it got to be too much. They loved being in Arizona; they met new friends and had so many stories to tell. They were very active in things going on in their little park. They said it was a whole new life and one they truly enjoyed.
Bob was a very strong, loving, compassionate and caring man. His greatest joys in life were when he and his family would go to the lake. Bob really enjoyed driving a boat and teaching his kids and anyone who wanted to learn to water ski. He enjoyed every moment he had with his kids and grandkids. His family meant the world to him and was the nearest and dearest thing to his heart.
Bob also loved a good game of cards or a board game with friends spending many a late night playing as if he were a teenager.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon of 62 years, daughter Patty and husband Randy Frerichs of Sidney; son, Donald Deaver of Sidney; son-in-law, Eddie Olson; 3 grandchildren, Jesse and wife, Desireau Olson of Sidney, Ryan Deaver of Imperial, NE, and Shawna Deaver of Sidney; 7 great-grandchildren, Preston, Jake, Porsha, Ashlee and Kyson Olson and Emile Deaver and Kinsley Deaver; 3 sisters, Virginia and husband, George Fiehler, Bonnie and husband, Danny Penn, and Kathy and husband, Tom Venable; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Carol Olson in April 2014; son, Ronald Deaver in October 1997; sister, Dorothy Stein; and brother, Dean Deaver.
