Alice M. Didier, age 96, of Sidney, passed away in SRMC Extended Care in Sidney on Monday, April 3, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 20, 2023 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sidney, NE with Father C.P. Varghese officiating. Cremation has been held. Inurnment will follow at a later date. Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday, April 19th from 1-6:00 P.M. to leave condolences for the family. Donation made in lieu of flowers will be used to honor Alice's favorite cause.

Alice Margaret Didier, the 2nd child of Joseph and Mary (nee Heeg) Schaf, was born in David City, NE on May 25, 1926. Alice is survived by her son Daniel and his wife Sharon Didier of Sidney, NE, daughter Anne Mullenniex of Las Cruces, NM, son Paul Didier of Sidney, NE, and daughter-in-law Arlene Didier of Chadron, NE. Alice leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Alice lived a full and active life, with a strong Christian faith as her guide. After graduating nursing school in 1948, she married Harry Didier and they had 6 children together, three of whom preceded her in death. She and Harry were married for 68 years until his passing in 2016. Alice was active in her church everywhere she lived, most recently St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sidney and for over 20 years in Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering, NE. Besides working as an R.N. for most of her adult life, Alice also attained a counseling certificate in 1978 and worked as an addictions' counselor. She was also personally invested in living a healthy lifestyle with good nutrition and alternative natural therapies, and learned and taught Therapeutic Touch for many years, as well. She impacted many people in her life and will be dearly missed.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Schaf, husband Harry Nicholas Didier, oldest son Joseph Damian Didier, oldest daughter Alice Maria Didier, son David Nicholas Didier, brother Joseph and his wife Althea Schaf, sister, Sister Mary Frances Schaf, and brother Leo Edward Schaf.
