Marjorie Ann Burnette, age 99, of Scottsbluff, NE, was received by the Lord on Sunday, March 26, 2023, due to a heart attack. As she believed, we shall look forward to seeing her again at Christ's second coming. She was born on October 22, 1923, to John William and Marie Magdelena (Schriener) Friede on the family farm north of Lodgepole, NE, the eldest of 10 children. She attended school in rural Cheyenne County north of Lodgepole and graduated from Lisco High School in 1941. She attended one year of Business College at Hastings, NE. Marge married Carl H. Brown of Bridgeport, NE, on December 15, 1942. To this union was born four children, Harvey Joe, Linda Sue, Duane Oliver, and Cynthia Anne. July 19, 1987, Marge married Thomas J. Burnette.
Marge is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, four children, one daughter-in-law, one grandson, six siblings/spouses and one sister-in-law. She is survived by two brothers and one sister, one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law, one son-in-law, eight grandchildren and their spouses, twenty-one great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. Marge cherished Tom's children and relatives as well and held them close to her heart. Carmelitta Edwards and Rose Mary Teller were long-time friends.
Visitation will be held on Good Friday, April 7th, 2023, at Dugan Kramer Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. followed by the service at 1:30 p.m. with burial at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering, NE. Cake and cookies to be served after the burial at the Robidoux Clubhouse.
