Delta Dawn When the Light Comes On: Week Thirteen

"Therefore, looking unto Jesus, Who, for the joy set before Him, endured the cross, and has sat down at the right hand of the Throne of God." Hebrews 12:2

Consider this Man, Jesus, who borrowed a donkey, rode through jubilant crowds, crying, in gut-wrenching sobs, because Jerusalem missed her hour of visitation by an invisible God in His visible Person. Continuing to the Temple, He overturned tables of money changers, answered tests of every manner and in every matter. He watched as people gave, observing a widow who threw in only two mites. Meanwhile, Judas and the Pharisees (religious ruling class) devised a plot to kill Him.

Only Jesus knew He was just hours away from being beaten bloody, slapped and spit upon, crucified naked, between two thieves, in public, for all to see. He called the Disciple John to care for His mother, Mary. As nails were driven into His flesh, He cried, "God forgive them for they know not what they do." Later, He loudly announced, "It is finished!" Jesus surrendered His Spirit, was buried in His uncle's tomb, descended into Hell, defeated satan, making an open show of him, repossessed the Keys of the Kingdom, and He arose again to life, the third day.

He appeared to 500 people in the next 40 days, fixed breakfast for His Disciples at the sea of Galilee, directed them to return to Jerusalem and wait for Holy Spirit to endue them with power, then ascended into Heaven as they watched.

Back in the upper room where He had instructed them to love one another as He loved them, they waited 10 more days. When Holy Spirit descended, He claimed each person present as a temple of His Anointing and Authority (Acts 2). 120 souls were fully equipped to carry out God's Word, His works and to declare His worth.

When my elder brother, Butch, was killed in a plane crash at high noon, aged 33 years, 4 months and 5 days, November 29, 1972, my conscience went 'wide screen'. Born again for years, I perceived how, and why, Father promised His Spirit's infilling. A Fire ignited me to draw closer, dig deeper; become a host of His Presence.

How very precious – and short – our journey here on earth, really is! We may suppose we don't amount to much, but we cannot deny that we were sent for such a time as this! It is in this time that we build and grow, together, relating to one another, to our community, state and nation! Father needs us, just now, as His Army of the Meek, and I believe we are ready to rub on His Anointing, thrust it into these times, and/or deliberately hurl His Truth into current chaos and bring about revival and order! The longer we live, the more dangerous we become to the devil. Father pours His Spirit, through each of us, in peculiar anointings – to accomplish what He sent us to do, in the first place -- TODAY! Jeremiah 29:11. "As He has sent (anointed) Me, so send I (appoint), you!" John 20:21
