Three More Coyote Wins

Potter-Dix's Coyote Boys Basketball team continued their winning ways, improving their record to 14-and-3 on the season with three more wins over the past week.

On Thursday, the Coyotes traveled to Harrisburg for a match up with the struggling Banner County Wildcats, and wasted no time building up a big 32-to-11 lead at the end of the first period. Potter-Dix tacked on 25 more points in the second period to take an insurmountable 57-to-20 lead. Even with the running clock, the Coyotes scored 32 more points in the second half to seal the 89-to-44 win. Senior Luke Kasten and junior Brayden Kasten lit up the scoreboard for Potter-Dix with 25 and 23 points each.

On Friday the boys traveled to Oshkosh for a game against Garden County, and the contest was surprisingly close in the first half. Garden County took a 25-to-18 lead into the half, but Potter-Dix came out roaring in the third quarter, putting up 23 points to take the lead and then added another 24 points in the fourth quarter to walk away with a 65-to-49 win. Luke Kasten led the scoring for the Coyotes with 21 points.

The Perkins County Plainsmen traveled to Potter on Saturday and gave the Coyotes a good game, tying the Coyotes at the end of the first and then going into the halftime break down by 9. The Plainsmen fought back hard in the second half and outscored the Coyotes, but it was not enough to overcome the halftime deficit and the Coyotes took away the win 52-to-49. Luke Kasten again led the scoring with 25 points in the game.

Potter-Dix was scheduled to host Peetz Tuesday night and then travel to Hyannis on Saturday.
