Ned LeDoux To Headline 2023 Cheyenne County Fair

as Carnival Midway Returns to Fairgrounds

A big announcement was made by the Fair Board, and Sidney will be getting up-and-coming country music star Ned LeDoux to headline Friday night's concert at the Fair in July.

The Fair Board issued a press release that detailed the events that will be happening at this year's Fair, from Saturday July 22 to Saturday July 29. Expect a more vibrant and action-packed Cheyenne County Fair this year, as the Fair Board has been diligently working to finalize agreements and square away the details of all the events to be held during the week of July 22nd through July 29th. Last week the Fair Board held a meeting where the members discussed what was needed to finalize certain events and plans while also discussing marketing and logistical details.

The last week of July will start off on Saturday the 22nd, with the NHBA Barrel Race. Sunday follows with Family Fun Night in the evening. Monday is dedicated to 4H Riding events and could also add a surprise event or two, while Tuesday is PRCA Rodeo and Barrel Race Night. Wednesday is Military, Veteran and 1st Responders Appreciation Day, and Thursday night hosts the Truck & Tractor Pull.

Ned Ledoux takes the stage Friday night as the Fair's Concert Entertainer for 2023. LeDoux is the son of rodeo-star turned country music icon Chris LeDoux, and is quickly becoming a breakout artist on the country music scene. From Kaycee, Wyoming, he is known for his two hit singles, "Brother Highway" and "Some People Do" off of his album "Sagebrush."

The week ends with a bang when the 1st Annual "Rumble on the Rails" Demolition Derby shakes the fairgrounds starting at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. A Carnival has been brought back for this year, and fairgoers can enjoy the rides Thursday through Saturday. And in big news, the Fair has been approved for an evening Beer Garden, so adult fairgoers can relax with a cold frosty one while enjoying the night's events.

The Fair Board still had some details they were working on, like a new logo for the Fair that uses a type of standardized font for better clarity on promotional items and posters while retaining the heritage of one of Nebraska's oldest county fairs. The Rodeo is going through the final approval phase, and may also be broadcast live on the Cowboy Channel. Arrangements are also being planned for a large screen outdoor television, to broadcast instant replays of the action.
