Leyton's Lady Warrior Girls Basketball team lost a close 43-to-42 contest to Haxtun on Saturday, after two big wins earlier in the week.
The Lady Warriors first traveled to Harrisburg to match up with Banner County on Tuesday, January 24, and blasted through the winless Lady Wildcats, opening a 39-to-3 lead at the halftime break. The Lady Warrior defense held the Lady Wildcats to just five second-half points as they cruised to a 59-to-8 win. Sophomore Zaili Benish dropped 27 points, including 5 three-point hits, in the win.
