Ruth Ann Rother

Ruth Ann Rother, 74, of Tecumseh, NE.  

Ruth Ann Rother was born to Raymond and Irene (L'Heureux) Wunderlich on March 2, 1948 in Burwell, Nebraska.  She grew up in Burwell, the fourth of six children born to this union.  Ruth Ann graduated from Burwell High School. 

She was united in marriage to Thomas Rother on September 30, 1972 in Grand Island, Nebraska.  This union was blessed with six children.

Ruth was a devoted and selfless wife and mother.  She worked for the Campbell's Soup Company in Tecumseh and owned and managed Omi's Café in Tecumseh.  While living in Glennallen, AL, Ruth worked as a receptionist at Cross Road Medical Center.   She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and St. Andrew Altar Society.

Ruth's family was her main passion and joy.  She enjoyed traveling greatly, and outdoor trips with her family.  Ruth loved to dance, especially with Tom or anyone else that would.  She was a creative and gifted quilter. 

She passed away peacefully on January 17, 2023 at her home in Tecumseh, NE.  

Survivors:  husband Tom, children, Stephanie Meldrum, Justin Rother (Serena), Jon Rother (Maggie), Josh Rother (Jenny), Stacey Rother (Jose Owens) and Jaquelyn "Jackie" McMahan (Bryan), 19 grandchildren, sisters, Sandy Seiler, Eva Cram and Kay Gilliland, brother Leonard Wunderlich, nieces, nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Jean. 

Mass of Christian Burial Service:  9:30 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh, NE.  The service will also be livestreamed on the Wherry Mortuary Facebook page. 

Visitation:  9-4, Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, NE.  Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. at the church. 

Memorials may go to the family's choice.

Interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Omaha National Cemetery, Omaha, NE.
