Missoula Children's Theatre Returns with "Aladdin"!

Local Auditions to be held

Missoula Children’s Theatre is once again making its annual stop in Sidney, and local students will have another opportunity to be a part of this yearly tradition. Auditions will be held for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of ALADDIN on Monday, January 30th at Sidney High School from 3:45pm to 5:45pm. Those auditioning should arrive early, and plan to stay for the full two hours, as the names of those chosen will be announced at the end of auditions, and some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following.

Among the roles to be cast are: Aladdin and his Mother; the Princess Dory and her father, the Sultan; along with his advisor the Grand Vizier; the keeper of the Book of Answers; Dinazade and her sister Scheherazade; the Mysterious One; some mischievous Genies; a stubborn Donkey; a spunky Goat; scheming Cassim; Ali Baba; Sinbad and his Sailors; wise-cracking Palm Trees and fleet-footed Camels; a Cave of Wonders; Vagabonds; and even a pack of lost Penguins.

All Students, ages K-12th grade are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

The Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week.

ALADDIN will be presented on Saturday, February 4th at 7pm at Sidney High School. The Missoula Children's Theatre residency in Sidney is brought to you in part by the High Plains Arts Council.
