Glenda D. Rice, age 76 of
Joliet, IL, formerly of Sidney,
passed away on Friday,
December 2, 2022. Her funeral
service will be held on Tuesday,
December 13, 2022 at 11:00
AM at Gehrig-Stitt Chapel in
Sidney, NE with Pastor Michael
Young officiating. Services will
be livestreamed on the Gehrig-
Stitt Chapel Facebook page and
recorded for later viewing on
our website. Burial will follow
at the Czech Cemetery near
Sunol. In lieu of flowers, contributions
may be made in care of the family for future
designation.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt
Chapel on Monday from 1-6:00 P.M. to
sign Glenda's register book. The family
will be present from 1 to 3 PM. You may

LLC is in charge of Glenda's care and
funeral arrangements.
Glenda was born June 22, 1946 in
Loveland, CO to Richard Lee and Leone
(Babe Ashby) Reese. The family
soon moved to Sterling, CO
where she attended school. She
had one daughter, Patti Reese,
on September 12, 1964.
Glenda married Nick Rice
on November 10, 1968. The
couple traveled with Forsythe
and Dowis Carnival for several
years. They lived in Bensenville
and Hanover Park, IL before
moving to Sidney, NE in 1997.
Glenda managed the Super
8 Motel and later worked for
Walmart for 13 years before retiring.
After the death of her husband, Nick, she
moved in with her daughter in Joliet.
Glenda is survived by her daughter, Patti;
grandson J.R "Justin" Reese and his fiancée
Lisa Guzman; granddaughter Heather
Reese; great grandchildren Justin, Conner,
Colin, Makayla and Genaro; sister Erma
Faye and husband Charles Miner; niece
Charla and her husband Dave Hudspeth
and nephews Richard and his wife Lucy
Miner and Clayton Miner.
Glenda was preceded in death by her
parents, husband Nick, and brother Robert
Reese.
