Lady Warriors Win Four Of Six

It was another busy week for Leyton’s Lady Warrior Volleyball team, and they won four out of six matches to move their season record to 12-and-10. On Tuesday, September 27, they traveled to Bridgeport and after dropping the first two sets, 25-to-14 and 26-to-24, they rallied to win the third set 25-to-19. But Bridgeport rallied to take the fourth set 25-to-13 for the 3-to-1 match victory.

Leyton then traveled to Arthur to match up against the Lady Wolves, and after taking the first two sets 25-to-12 and 25-to-15, Arthur rallied to take the third set 25-to-15 and the fourth set 25-to-20. Leyton regrouped and fought back in the fifth set, and pulled away for a 15-to-12 set win and 3-to-2 match victory.

Leyton then hosted Mullen on Friday, and were able to sweep the Lady Broncs 25-to-5, 25-to-19 and 25-to-20.

Leyton then traveled to Dunning on Saturday and won two out of three matches, besting Sandhills Valley 25-to-8 and 25-to-15 and Hyannis 25-to-15 and 25-to-17. In their last match, Sandhills/Thedford jumped on the Lady Warriors early with a 25-to-14 first set victory. Leyton fired back in the second set, winning 25-to-18, but Sandhills/Thedford regrouped in the third set and defeated Leyton 25-to-15 for the 2-to-1 match victory.

Leyton was next scheduled to match up with Creek Valley on Tuesday in Chappell.
