Potter-Dix’s Lady Coyote Volleyball team continued their stellar season at home with a win against South Platte, and a loss to rival Bayard on Tuesday, September 27.
First up was South Platte, and the Potter-Dix girls took a big lead early in the first set, and pulled away despite serving and hitting errors for a 25-to-12 first set victory. In the second set the Lady Coyotes again took an early lead, but the Lady Blue Knights kept up the pressure and eventually tied the set at 17-to-17. But the Potter-Dix offense turned it on and pulled ahead, but were unable to easily put South Platte away.
The Lady Blue Knights kept fighting and again tied the set at 23-to-23 and then 24-to-24. But an ace serve by senior Tyenne Berner made it 25-to-24 and then senior Lily Tabor came up with a big kill to put away the Lady Blue Knights in the second set 26-to-24 for the 2-to-0 match victory.
It was a different story against Bayard, as both teams entered the contest with just one loss. But the Lady Tigers were sharp, and were able to get past Potter-Dix in two sets, 25-to-18 and 25-to-17. Lily Tabor led the offense with 4 kills in the loss.
Potter-Dix moves to 17-and-2 on the season and was scheduled to travel to Kimball on Tuesday to match up with the Lady Longhorns.
