Potter-Dix's Coyote Football team continued their success Friday night at Combs Field with an impressive 92-to-12 dismantling of the Banner County Wildcats.
Everything the Coyotes tried on offense worked, with the quarterbacks completing 8-of-10 passes for 149 yards and four touchdowns, and Potter-Dix's 26 rush attempts netted 251 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Potter-Dix's defense was stellar as usual, holding the Wildcats to just 1 yard rushing on 28 attempts and 16 yards passing on 16 attempts with just two completions. Senior standout Luke Kasten had a relatively quiet night on offense, rushing just 8 times for 92 yards. The scoring for Potter-Dix was spread around with seven players having a rushing touchdown. Junior Jaxson Buettenback had two touchdown receptions and a rushing touchdown to lead the scoring for Potter-Dix.
As impressive as the win was, it was the Coyotes ability to score with just about every offensive player and not just Luke Kasten that was the big takeaway from the game. And the shut-down defense of the Coyotes' continues to impress, holding Banner County to negligible yardage while generating five turnovers.
Potter-Dix gets a week off then returns on Friday October 7 for a road match against Creek Valley in Chappell. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.
