Serving proudly since 1873 as the beautiful Nebraska Panhandle's first newspaper
Sidney's E3 chapter is hosting communities from across the state of Nebraska on September 22 and 23 this month to demonstrate where we are doing well and continue to build out opportunities to improve for the future.
Individuals from the Nebraska Community Foundation, E2 (Entrepreneurial Ecosystems), and NetWork Kansas will be facilitating the discussions. Communities touring Sidney include McCook, Red Cloud, Keith County, Holt Count, and Valley County. The group will begin with a tour of Sidney's High School to learn of the strength of our educational programs such as Career Pathways and the Raider Made program.
The communities will then present programs towards goals established by the E3 program. The remaining afternoon will be spent touring community assets such as the new Legion Park and new businesses that have launched in the past 5 years. Scheduled businesses to tour include: Kendall Esthetics, Pedaler's Corner, Charlotte & Emerson, Highby Outdoors, and Sam & Louie's and Boss City Brewing. Finally, the evening will end at Lazy S Ranch with networking.
Friday's session will begin at ESU 13 and a tour will be given of WNCC's entrepreneurship center. Paula Abbott and Nichole Peralta will give an overview of the center and how businesses have launched utilizing the rent-free space. The remaining morning will be spent reviewing opportunities and building action plans for the communities for the next six months.
