Sidney's Cross Country teams had a busy weekend, competing at the Gering Invite on Friday and the Cozad Invite on Saturday.
At Gering, the varsity boy's squad took third place overall, with 46 points. Gering came in first with 10 points and Chadron took second with 38 points. Junior Duncan Carrasco was the top finisher for Sidney in 29th place with a time of 28:34.43. Junior Hunter Isenbart was the top finisher for Creek Valley in 19th place with a time of 25:29.68.
The Sidney varsity girls took fifth place at Gering with 67 points, behind first place Scottsbluff with 25 points and second place Gering with 28 points. Junior Isabelle Neve was the top finisher for the girls in 16th place with a time of 29:27.94. Freshman Rebecca Lutz of Creek Valley was the top finisher for the Lady Storm in 25th place with a time of 31:10.25.
At the Cozad Invite, the Sidney varsity boys finished in 8th place with 112 points. The top finisher was sophomore Jashawn Davenport in 22nd place with a time of 19:17. The Sidney varsity girls placed second with a score of 49, behind first place McCook with 22. Junior Talissa Tanquary led the Sidney girls with a third place finish at 20:46.
The Sidney Cross Country teams are back in action on Friday at the Chadron State Invitational.
