Leyton, Potter-Dix Roll To Big Wins

Both the Potter-Dix Coyote Football team and the Leyton Warrior Football team rolled to big wins to remain unbeaten on Friday.

In Potter, the Coyotes hosted the Crawford Rams at Combs Field, and the visiting Rams offered very little resistance to the top-rated Coyotes, falling by a score of 91-to-6. Potter-Dix senior Luke Kasten rushed 8 times for 182 yards and 5 touchdowns, while junior Brayden Kasten completed 6-of-8 passes for 48 yards and 2 touchdowns, and freshman Dylan Tabor rushed 4 times for 116 yards and 3 touchdowns in the victory. The Coyotes had five interceptions in the game, with Tabor picking off two passes. The Coyote defense also forced two fumbles in the game. 2-and-0 Potter-Dix next hosts Hay Springs on Friday.

In Dalton, the Warriors hosted the Kimball Longhorns, in their second game after a year of not fielding a team. The Warriors jumped on the Longhorns early, reeling off 33 points in the first quarter, followed by 23 more in the second quarter to take a commanding 56-to-0 lead at the half. With the running clock shortening the second half, Leyton put up 21 more points while the defense shut down the Kimball offense, and the game ended in a 77-to-0 shut out victory for the Warriors.

Leyton's offense gained yards almost exclusively on the ground, rushing 37 times for 263 yards and 8 touchdowns. Senior Dawson Juelfs led the attack with 9 rushes for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Senior Justin Ernest had the lone touchdown reception on an 18 yard catch from senior Damyn Russ. The 2-and-0 Warriors next travel to Morrill on Friday to match up against the Lions.
