Storm Falls In Opener, 78-0; Leyton Rolls Over Hemingford 49-10

Creek Valley's Storm 6-Man Football team had a rough start to the season, as they traveled to Harrison to face the Sioux County Warriors on Friday. The Storm were unable to get anything going on offense, and their defense was unable to stop the Warrior's attack, and the Storm fell by a final score of 78-to-0.

The Warriors dominated all phases of the game from start to finish, and the Storm looks to re-tool and make adjustments for a better showing on Thursday, when they open at home against the Crawford Rams.

In 8-Man action, the Leyton Warriors traveled to Hemingford Thursday afternoon for their opener against the Bobcats. After a close first quarter that had Leyton up 8-to-2, the Warriors exploded for 27 points in the second quarter to give Leyton a big 35-to-2 halftime lead. Leyton scored fourteen more points in the second half while Hemingford could only manage one fourth quarter touchdown, and the Warriors took the win 49-to-10. Leyton senior Damyn Russ had a fine day passing, going 4-for-5 for 118 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Chance Carter had seven rushes for 156 yards and four touchdowns for the Warriors. Leyton next hosts Kimball on Friday in Dalton.
