Lois Mae Hansen passed away peacefully Saturday morning, August 6, 2022 at The Gardens on Quail in Arvada, Colorado at the age of 83.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd., Denver, Colorado, Staging Area A at 9:45 a.m., Shelter A at 10 a.m.
Newcomer Family Funeral Home, Lakewood, Colorado, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born May 1, 1939 at Chappell, Nebraska, to parents Luella (Thompson) and William Bartling. She grew up on the family farm north of Lodgepole, Nebraska where she graduated in 1957 from Lodgepole High School. She attended Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska. Lois met Glen Hansen upon his return from military duty. Lois M. Bartling and Glen C. Hansen were married on December 28, 1961 at Lodgepole, Nebraska. They moved to Blair, Nebraska before moving to Minot, North Dakota. They moved to Arvada, Colorado in 1973, where they spent the rest of their lives.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen, and sister Janice Anderson.
She is survived by her children: Sonja (Hansen) Pohl and husband Steve of Bennett, Colorado; Kyle Hansen and wife Laurie of Broomfield, Colorado; grandchildren: Ashleigh (Hansen) and husband Sam Meeks, Brooke Hansen and Wyatt Pohl; great-grandsons Hudson and Cooper Meeks; brother, Ron Bartling and wife Roxie of Sidney, Nebraska, as well as many nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
