The first Raider Athletic Fundraiser was a downtown event for children to seniors with games, food, and music. This year organizers are sharpening the focus to active events, a golf tournament and a 3 and 5K Fun Run/Walk.
The golf tournament is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 5, at Hillside Golf Course in Sidney. The format is a four-person scramble with a minimum of two drives per player. There will be two or three flights with 36 teams. The $80 entry fee includes green fees.
Prizes will be awarded for all flights.
The Fun Run/Walk is Saturday, Aug. 6 at Legion Park. Registration is open online at http://www.sidneyraiders.org. The 3K will begin at 7 a.. and the 5K at 7:30 a.m. The registration fee includes a commemorative Raider Athletics t-shirt. Students are $20 and adult/non-students are $30. All proceeds go to Sidney Raider Athletics. Runners can also register the morning of the event. However, a shirt is not guaranteed for late registrations.
