Jean M. Dimmick, age 93, of Sidney, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in Loveland, CO. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney with Father C.P. Varghese officiating. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sidney, NE. Services will be recorded and available on our website for viewing. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Monday, May 23rd from 1-6:00 P.M.

Jean was born on March 13, 1929, at Bennet, NE, to Edward and Mable Jensen. She was the youngest of 8 children. She grew up on the family farm graduating from high school in 1947. She attended business college in Lincoln, NE. She worked at Lincoln Telephone Co., as a loan officer for several years and the accounting office of Mowbray Buick in Lincoln where she met and married James L. Dimmick on August 12, 1961.

In 1964, the family moved to Sidney where Jim was employed at the Sioux Army Depot as an auto mechanics instructor. Jean was busy at home raising their 3 children and involved in several organization, including the Extension Club, Boy & Girl Scouts and Lodgepole Valley Youth Camp. In 1978, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Walter Petroleum for 21 years before retiring in 1999. Jean was active in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and loved working at the Rummage House and helping serve funeral dinners.

Jean was a loving and giving person, always putting others first. She loved her family dearly and always had time to listen and chat with family and friends. She had the coffee pot on every day for whomever may stop in for a visit. She will be greatly missed by all of us.

Jean is survived by her 3 children, Ragina Olsen, Robert Dimmick and wife Lily and Ray Dimmick; 5 grandchildren, Chris, Brian and wife Crystal, Trevor and wife Alyssandra, Hayley and husband Mike, and Liliana; one great grandchild, Aiden and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, parents Edward & Mable; father and mother-in-law, Ralph Dimmick and Beulah Reynolds; sisters Opal, Josephine, Margaret, Elaine and Lola; 2 brothers, Darrell and Edward and one son-in-law, Ralph Olsen.
