Sidney's Red Raider Golf team hit the links on Friday for the Sidney Invite, after the competition was postponed from Tuesday due to the high winds hitting the panhandle area through the beginning of the week.
The weather cooperated as cool temperatures warmed during the day and the breezes were manageable for the golfers.
The Sidney team of John Beier, Wyatt Heckenlively, Jack Lilley, Logan Johnson and Cole Hanley shot a 360 (+72) to take fifth placed, edged out of fourth place by Alliance by one stroke (359).
Beier's round of 80 was followed by Hanley's 91 (+19 - 15th Place), Lilley's 94 (+22 - 20th Place), Johnson's 95 (+23 - 24th Place) and Heckenlively's 105 (+33 - 34th Place)
Ogallala won the team event with a 333 (+45) followed by Gering with a 341 (+53) and Chadron with a 354 (+66). Ogallala's Jake Hiltibrand won the individual competition with a 79, followed by Beier of Sidney with an 80.
