Coyotes, Warriors Compete At Morrill Early Bird

The Potter-Dix Coyote and Leyton Warrior Track and Filed teams traveled on Saturday to compete at the annual Morrill Early Bird meet. The Warrior Boy's Varsity squad placed second with 77 points and the Coyote Boy's Varsity squad placed sixth with 44 points. The Warrior Girl's team placed seventh with 44 points and the Coyote Girl's team placed 12th with even points. Mitchell topped the Varsity Boys competition with 95 points while Crawford won the Girl's title with 84 points.

Several student athletes had outstanding performances in the meet, including Potter-Dix junior Luke Kasten winning the 100 Meters with a time of 11.78 and the 200 Meters with a time of 23.98. Leyton junior Justin Ernest won the 800 Meters with a time of 2:12.70 and was a part of the 4X100 Meter Relay team that won with a time of 46.51. Leyton also won the 4x800 Relay with a time of 9:24.20, and Potter-Dix senior Thomas Muldoon won the High Jump clearing 5' 10”.

For the girls, Leyton freshman Zaili Benish won the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 18.06 and also won the 300 Meter Hurdles with a time of 49.36.
