Serving proudly since 1873 as the beautiful Nebraska Panhandle's first newspaper
When the Sidney Elks Lodge heard that the Table of Grace Food Bank was planning to build a warehouse for non-perishable items as well as add freezer space to better serve our community, the Elks Lodge thought we may have a way to assist. Elk Lodges that are in good standing are able to apply for an ENF Grant (Elks National Foundation).
The mission of the ENF is to help Elks build stronger communities. We fulfill this pledge by investing in communities where Elks live and work. We help youth develop lifelong skills, send students to college, meet the needs of today's veterans, support the charitable work of the state Elks associations, and fund projects that improve the quality of life in local Elks communities.
The ENF committee applied for a $1,500 grant to help with the local food bank. We received approval for this along with a note asking if we wanted to apply for an additional amount through another grant. It was decided to apply for the additional amount and the committee was pleasantly surprised when we were awarded with $7,500.
It is the Sidney Lodge's very great pleasure to be able to present the Table of Grace with a donation.
