The Sidney chapter of The Compassionate Friends will be meeting 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, in the Applebee's meeting room. Each attendee is responsible for his or her dinner cost. The mission of The Compassionate Friends is one of support for parents who have, and are, experiencing the loss of a child: “When a child dies, at any age, the family suffers intense pain and may feel hopeless and isolated.” The Compassionate Friends provides highly personal comfort, hope, and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or a daughter, a brother or a sister, or a grandchild, and helps others better assist the grieving family.” The Compassionate Friends offers support of other parents who are walking a similar journey. Sharing is welcomed but not required. To reserve a seat at the dinner or to learn more about Compassionate Friends, call 970-580-8998.
