The Monthly Performance Award acknowledges other criteria as well as achievement. These criteria are:
1. Superior academic performance, (or), dramatic improvement of classroom work, G.P.A. or attitude toward learning.
2. Exceptional work effort toward a particular class project.
3. Outstanding Contribution to the class.
4. Leadership exhibited in the class/school.
5. Citizenship emphasized and modeled.
6. Service to school.
Recognized for the December 2021 Performance Awards are:
7th Grade — Emily Bashtovoi: We find Emily to be a very positive student who always strives to do her best. The accountability she demonstrates in the classroom sends out a very positive message to other students and to her teachers.
Emily is always ready to help other students and always does so in a very encouraging manner.She leads by example and is an outstanding student. She manages to keep a straight A average while balancing academics and extracurricular activities. Emily is the daughter of Denis and Amy Bashtovoi.
8th grade — Jaylee Nienhuser: Jaylee has consistently displayed the qualities that we find desirable of a student representing Sidney Middle School. Jaylee sets a positive example each day in her academics and positive behavior choices. Facing every challenge with a can-do spirit, she always gives 110 percent.
When other students are in need of assistance, Jaylee helps them with patience and understanding,m brightening everyone's spirits with her genuine smile. In our experience with Jaylee, she has been respectful to teachers and other students. Her positive attitude, excellent work ethics, leadership, and patience with others make her an excellent choice for student of the month. Jaylee is the daughter of Trevor and Kristin Nienhuser.
9th Grade — Macy Brigmon: Macy is a new student this year and has been fantastic in class. She always gets her work done on time and asks good questions. She is a great addition to Sidney High School. Each day when she comes to class she has a smile on her face and is prepared to learn with an unwavering positive attitude! Macy consistently goes above and beyond in class — not only with her assignments, but with her participation and willingness to help classmates when they are stuck. She is easily one of the toop performers inDaily Grammar for English 9, and her knowledge helps make the peers around her better. I am pleased to nominate Macy as December Student of the Month. Macy's parents are Blake and Jenn Brigmon.
10th Grade — Cole Hanley: Cole is always the first to help in the clcassroom. He's positive and willing to work with all of his peers. He's always looking for solutions in FCS and works incredibly well with others. Cole is involved in football, basketball and golf. He also works as a lifeguard in the summer and is a referee for Elementary sports through the Cheyenne County Community Center. Cole's future plans are to0 possibly attend college in Wyoming or possibly attend community college for the first two years. Cole's parents are Lisa Hanley and Stacey Hanley.
11th Grade — Krishnaraj Ganesan: Krish is determined to do well and to learn. He takes this class seriously, completes all his homework to the fullest and on time (and of course, without cheating/plagiarizing). Let's sum up that Krish's current grade is over 100 percent.
12th Grade — Christian Andrews: Christian has always asked if there are ways he can improve his performance, and will work extremely hard when asked to. While attending Sidney High School, Christian has been involved in football. He also enjoys anything that has to do with cars. He loves 60s and 70s Mopars and enjoys the outdoors. Christian's plans after graduation are to get a job at a body shop and flip cars. Christian's parents are Chris and Marcie Andrews.
