The Leyton Boy's Basketball team traveled to Arthur to match up against the Wolves for their final game of 2021, and after a close first quarter, the Warriors' offense took over in the second and third periods to get the easy win for Leyton, 67-to-27.
The first period had both teams scuffling and battling, and the Leyton squad was able to gain a 14-to-10 advantage after one quarter. But it was the second quarter and into the third quarter when the Warriors pulled away, going on big runs and opening a 57-to-26 lead. The Warriors tacked on another ten points in the fourth period and went home with a 67-to-27 win. Four Warriors were in double digits for points scored, led by junior Dillon Juelfs with 15 points, senior KJ Bush with 14 points, senior Scout Gamble with 12 points and junior Justin Ernst with 12 points also in the win. Gamble drained four three pointers out of eight tries, and Bush had 11 rebounds on the night.
Leyton continues to play well, and improves to 6-and-1 with two wins over district opponents. They next play at home against Hay Springs on Saturday, January 8.
