Walter “Walt” Lee Wiegand, age 83, of Sidney, NE passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the SRMC Extended Care in Sidney. Services are pending and will be announced when available.

Walt Wiegand, the son of Walter H. and Wilma (Orth) Wiegand was born on March 11, 1938 in Garden County, NE. He attended Chappell High School and graduated in 1955.
On August 30, 1958 he was united in marriage to Lucille Dean at the First United Methodist Church in Sidney, NE. To this union two sons were born: Wesley and Brent.
Walt was the owner of Steam Way Carpet Cleaning and worked for Co-op before retiringHe enjoyed camping as a member of the Good Sam Club. He was a member of the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his two sons, Wesley of Sidney, NE and Brent and wife Cheryl of Aurora, CO; four grandchildren, Lee and wife Mindy of Sidney, NE, Marcene Elwell and husband Jake of Sidney, NE, Maggie Lopez and husband Tommy of Greeley, CO and Shannon of Aurora, CO; five great-grandchildren Kolton, Alayna, Barrett, Brett and Hoyt; four brothers Delmar, Leonard, Milton, and Vernon, one sister Melva as well as numerous nieces and nephews and one aunt and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lucille and one sister Della.
