The Coyote Basketball team made a trip down to Iliff, Colo., on Saturday to face the Caliche Buffaloes, and came away with a convincing 67-to-51 win.
The teams played the first quarter tight, with lots of defensive pressure and turnovers limiting the scoring. Potter-Dix managed a 12-to-9 lead after one period, then went on to score 20 points in the second period to bring a 32-to-22 advantage into the halftime. Both teams played a solid third period on offense and defense, both scoring 17 points. But Caliche was not able to score enough to stem the tide, and the Coyotes went on for the 67-to-51 win.
Junior Luke Kasten was fantastic on offense and defense for the Coyotes, scoring 28 points and grabbing 21 rebounds in the victory. Thomas Muldoon and Gunnar Oleson were also in double-digits with 11 and 14 points respectively.
Potter-Dix finishes the December portion of their schedule at 5-and-0, and the team continues to impress with their strong play and athletes.
