Leyton's Warrior Football team dropped their second contest in a row, moving their record to 5-and-2 on the year, and looking to rebound against Garden County Thursday afternoon.
The Mullen Broncos came into Dalton needing a win over Leyton to capture the District D2-10 title, and were able to accomplish that goal in quick fashion. Mullen junior quarterback Clayton Moore lit up the Warriors' defense, rushing for 140 yards on 20 carries, while completing 8-of-13 passes for 131 yards and scoring four total touchdowns.
The Broncos undefeated record in district gives them the title with one game left in the regular season.
The Warriors had a tough night on offense, limited to just 200 yards. Senior KJ Bush had 14 carries for 79 yards to lead the rushing attack, while senior quarterback Scout Gamble went 4-for-13 for 45 yards in the air and had a touchdown pass to Justin Ernest before leaving in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.
Sophomore Peyton Abbott had 75 yards rushing on 10 carries, and replaced Gamble late in the game and had 66 yards passing on three completions on four attempts.
The 5-and-2 Warriors travel to Oshkosh on Thursday to face Garden County in the season finale.
