Lady Coyotes Finish Week With Wins

Potter-Dix's Lady Coyote Volleyball team has had a bit of a struggle early in the season, but capped a busy week with two wins and hope to keep their momentum into the next week.

On Tuesday Sept. 21, Potter-Dix had a triangular with Wallace and Wauneta-Palisade, and lost both matches in straight sets. Against the Wauneta-Palisade Lady Broncos, the Lady Coyotes lost 15-to-25 and 20-to-25. Jayden Shoemaker led the offense in the loss with four kills. Next they matched up against Wallace, and were over-matched, losing 12-to-25 and 11-to-25.

On Friday, the Arthur County Lady Wolves hosted the Lady Coyotes, and took the first set 25-to-22. Potter-Dix rebounded and took the second set 25-to-21, but again could not build upon the momentum and lost the next two sets 25-to-23, and 25-to-18. Shoemaker again led the offense with 12 kills in the loss.

On Saturday, the Lady Coyotes hosted a quadrangular meet, and after losing the first match to Crawford, 25-to-20, 20-to-25 and 25-to-23, rebounded to take the next two matches. The Lady Coyotes had little trouble with Morrill, winning 25-to-16 and 25-to-20, but then had a good battle with Perkins County before taking the match victory 25-to-23, 25-to-15 and 25-to-18.

Potter-Dix's record now stands at 6-and-9 and they were scheduled to travel to Bayard to take on the Lady Tigers.
