Leyton Rolls Over Bayard, 69-6

The Leyton Warrior Football team traveled to Bayard, and spoiled the hosts' Homecoming festivities 69-to-6 to stay undefeated on the season.

Leyton started quickly, shutting down the Tiger offense and forcing a punt, then scoring on their first play from scrimmage on a Scout Gamble pass to Justin Ernest. The Warriors did not ease up, and scored four touchdown in the first quarter to walk away with the easy win. Leyton used big plays to reach the end zone, and led 29-to-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Warriors continued the pressure in the second quarter, adding a fumble return for a touchdown into the mix, and led 43-to-0 midway through the second quarter. Bayard finally got on the board in the waning moments of the first half, only to see Leyton strike right back with a quick score to take a 50-to-6 lead into the intermission.

Even with the bench players taking the majority of the snaps in the second half, Leyton continued to score, rushing for three more touchdowns on their way to the 69-to-6 victory. Scout Gamble completed four passes, all for touchdowns, with 129 yards passing. Kole Bush led the rushing attack with 12 carries for 128 yards, and had a blistering 60 yard touchdown gallop in the first quarter. Leyton is at home on Friday for their Homecoming match-up against Hyannis.
