Vicki Lynn Raney

Vicki Lynn Raney, 72, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. 

Vicki was born on February 12, 1949, in Sidney, Nebraska to Alfred Peters and Hazel Smith Peters. She attended District 68 rural school through the 8th grade.  She graduated from Sidney High School in 1969.  During high school she worked as a dining room hostess at the Fort Sidney Motor Hotel, and upon graduation, attended the Business Institute in Sidney where she received a Business Degree.

Vicki was employed at the C. A. Story Agency in Sidney for many years.  Vicki was a member of the First Christian Church in Sidney, Nebraska.  Upon settling in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, she was employed at several different occupations including High Class Maintenance where she cleaned Northside Elementary and Southside Schools, and she was currently employed as a driver at Car Mart.

She enjoyed many different interests in her life including being an accomplished pianist. While in high school, she accompanied the school singing group, Madrigal, on the piano during their performances. She was an avid book collector, loved steam locomotives, the Budweiser Clydesdales, classical Country music (especially Waylon Jennings and Marty Robbins), loved any and all cats, and was an extreme Corn Husker fan.  Vicki had a large heart and would do anything for anyone.

She is survived by 5 children; Eric Arnold and wife Rebeckah of Siloam Springs, Karena Gregory of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Michelle Raney and husband Brenton Barnes of Siloam Springs, Wayne Malone of Siloam Springs and Will Raney of Ogden, Utah; one sister, Kerry Krauter of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers, Kim Peters of Falmouth, Michigan and Val Peters of Sidney, Nebraska; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren along with many other family members.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, her boyfriend Harold Anderson and one great grandchild A.J. Armstrong IV.

A Memorial Service for Vicki was held at the First Christian Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, on Saturday, July 3, 2021.
