Creek Valley’s Storm Track and Field teams competed with the best the panhandle area teams on Saturday at the John Ganser Sidney Invitational, and although they did not score well as a team, a few individual performances stood out on the day.
Senior Brandon Span earned fifth place in the 200 meters at 25.47, junior Lucas Trujilio earned eight place in the 400 meters at 56.78. Senior Oakley Hodges had a personal best throw of 37’ 10”, good enough to earn seventh place in the Shot Put, and tied for eight place in the Discus with a throw of 106’ 4”.
For the girls, freshman Samantha Marin placed seventh in the 3200 meters at 14:10.69, and the 4x800 meter relay team of Lydia Mitlehner, Samantha Marin, Ella Ningen and Anna Speirs placed seventh at 12:10.61.
The Storm Track and Field team next hosts the Tri-State Meet on Tuesday, April 6.
