Serving proudly since 1873 as the beautiful Nebraska Panhandle's first newspaper
ACE, the Public Alliance for Community Energy, will again be a competing natural gas supplier in the upcoming Nebraska Choice Gas selection period, which has been extended this year and runs from March 18 through April 22. Formed by Nebraska communities to ensure Nebraskans have a choice in their natural gas supplier, ACE remains true to its mission as the only community-owned and not-for-profit supplier in the program.
Local control is the cornerstone of ACE. Each of the 75 ACE member communities, including Sidney, has a representative on ACE’s board. The result of this model of community cooperation and cohesiveness has been remarkable for Nebraska.
ACE recently distributed another round of funds from its revenue return program to Sidney and the other ACE member communities. Since its formation, ACE has returned more than $3.2 million to Nebraska communities, including more than $226,000 to Sidney. These funds are used in a variety of ways, however each community decides.
In Sidney, ACE funds have been used for:
• Legion Park Pond Project
• Playground Equipment
• Stocking of fish in the Legion Park Pond
• Baseball/Softball field lights
ACE’s success is largely due to Nebraska communities working together for the common benefit of their residents. To learn more about ACE and its mission, visit http://www.ACEenergy.org. I encourage Sidney residents to choose ACE as your natural gas supplier during this year’s selection. By choosing ACE, you are supporting Nebraska communities through a not-for-profit, community-owned hometown success story that was created and exists for the benefit of Nebraskans.
