Global temperatures are getting warmer. For that reason, a climate crisis has been declared. John Kerry, the Biden administration’s “climate tsar,” says we have only nine years to stop a global catastrophe. He’s a moron.
The United Nations last week released a 168-page report titled “Making Peace with Nature” (anthropomorphizing nature is a pagan religion concept) in which the actions necessary to avoid irreversible damage to the planet include requiring governments to alter their tax structures, change economies and means of power generation, alter people’s means of transportation, reform people’s diets to move away from livestock meat, change the way crops are produced, and end the use of fossil fuels.
In short, the planet can only be saved by giving governments broad new powers and more money, increased taxation, restriction of personal liberties and sweeping new regulations. The U.N. is evil, and it should be pointed out that U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is a member of the Portugal Socialist Party, is former Secretary General of that party, and is the former head of Socialist International, a global organization made up of socialist parties seeking to establish “democratic socialism” worldwide. Has any other media outlet told you this?
Another thing you haven’t been told is that U.S. greenhouse gas emissions fell dramatically under the Trump administration AFTER we pulled out of the Paris Climate Accords. A goal set in the 2009 Copenhagen Accord was for the U.S to cut emissions 17% to reach 2005 levels. In 2020 we hit 21.5% reduction, which Trump critics say was due to Covid shutdowns. It was partially, but also contributing was increased use of clean natural gas and reduced use of coal due to fracking. And no one mentions China alone generates nearly a third (30%) of global greenhouse gas emissions and doesn’t seem to care. Bottom line is that the U.S. was a leader in reducing greenhouse gas emissions going into 2021 and making great progress without the U.N.
For those unaware, I’m a meteorologist. I began my weather career in 1979 and have more than 40 years of experience in broadcast meteorology, forensic meteorology, fire meteorology and corporate meteorology. I know a thing or two about weather and climate. And more dangerous than climate change could be making short-term drastic decisions and changes without considering their long-term consequences.
Global leaders are acting as if the planet has a thermostat human activity can turn up and down. Suppose that’s true, we implement the U.N. plan, and global temperatures reverse in 10 years. How long before there are cries of alarm over global cooling? What will we do then? Look for SUV blueprints and give a gas-powered vehicle to every family? Start digging coal? Demand people start breeding farting cows?
Also, if rising sea levels are imminent, why are banks still offering long-term mortgages for beachfront properties? Why do insurance companies still insure coastal properties? Why do many of the big names demanding action on climate change still live in and purchase homes with ocean views as they fly around the world in private jets?
Next week, in part two, we’ll look at more climate-related facts you won’t get anywhere else.
