Lenore Faye Winkelman

Lenore Faye Winkelman , age 92, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.

Due to Covid concerns, the family will have a private ceremony at the Dalton, NE cemetery. Hopefully the virus that has put a death grip on this land will subside and we can celebrate the life of a cowgirl, a good wife, a good farmer and most of all, the best mother ever this coming summer. Cremation has been held.

The family has established memorials to the Dalton Fire Department in care of her family.

You may view Lenore’s Book of Memories, leave condolences, photos and stories at http://www.gehrigstittchapel.com.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Lenore’s care and funeral arrangements.

Lenore was the daughter of Cecil and Elsie Rodgers. She was born in Pollock, MO. They moved to western Nebraska in the 30’s and farmed and ranched in the Bridgeport area. She graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1946.

On August 18, 1948, she was married to Harold Winkelman in Gurley, NE. They lived and farmed west of Dalton as a team for over 70 years. To this union were born two sons, Randy and Jimmy. She loved her flower garden almost as much as she did us-depending on the day.

She gave life all she had with what she had to work with. May she rest in peace. She has raised the bar on being tough beyond our imagination.

She is survived by her husband, Harold and two sons, nieces, nephews, grandkids and great-grandkids. And a special thanks to Jeff for helping them all these years.
