Serving proudly since 1873 as the beautiful Nebraska Panhandle's first newspaper
The annual non-denominational Worldwide Candle Lighting Ceremony in Sidney, will be held 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, at The Well Church, 432 20th Ave., Sidney, Neb.
The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting is held on the second Sunday in December worldwide, in every time zone. Everyone is invited to light a candle in honor of all the children who have died, so that their light may always shine. As candles go out in one time zone, they are lit in the next, creating a wave of light that encircles the globe.
We will have the Memory Christmas Tree on display at the church.
For those who have lost a loved one, please provide a photo (no larger than a 4x6), that will be used in the slide show at the Candle Lighting Ceremony. Please include your child’s full name, birth date and angel date with your photo. The photo can be mailed to Sidney Sun Telegraph, 817 12th Ave., Sidney, Nebraska, 69162, Attn - Forrest Hershberger, or email it to [email protected], no later than November 20. We will use last years pictures for those of you that have already provided them unless we hear otherwise. For those of you that may not have a photo, but would like your child remembered in the slide show, send information and a photographic symbol, (e.g. teddy bear, angel, cherub, etc.).
Families do NOT have to attend the Candle Lighting Ceremony in order for your child to be remembered.
If you have any questions please call Forrest Hershberger at 308-254-2818 or 970-580-8998.
