Coyotes Down Blue Knights 62-27

Potter-Dix’s Coyote Football team remained unbeaten as they traveled to Big Springs on Friday and recovered from a slow start to beat the South Platte Blue Knights in convincing fashion, 62-to-27.

A surprisingly slow first quarter had the Coyotes only up 6-to-0, but as the second quarter developed the Potter-Dix squad went on a run and opened up a big 27-to-7 lead at the half. Potter-Dix then put the game away in the third quarter by running up 27 points to the Blue Knights 14, then finished the game with another touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the 62-to-27 victory, and the Coyotes sit at the top of the 6-Man league standings with a 5-and-0 record.

Sophomore quarterback Luke Kasten again delivered, completing seven of 15 passes for 230 yards and four touchdowns, and connecting on a 62 yard touchdown to senior Javon Coyle for the game’s longest score.

Coyle and junior Jared Anton each had two touchdown receptions. Kasten led the defense with 13 total tackles and two interceptions while Coyle and junior Conner Glanz each had a sack. Coyle also returned a punt 76 yard for a touchdown in the win.

Potter-Dix looks to remain unbeaten as they go on the road Friday to take on the 2-and-3 Hay Springs Hawks.
