Creek Valley’s Storm Football team looks to continue its success in the D6 ranks after having their best season last year in the school’s history; a 10-and-1 record and a deep drive into the State Championship Tournament.
Head Coach Joe Kupper has the challenge of replacing the production of standout quarterback and running back Patrick Hansen who graduated, and sophomore Eli Schmid will take over the play calling at quarterback.
The Storm will rely on the experience of returning starters Tucker Graeff, Justin Ningen and Lucas Trujillo to continue their winning ways. Look for standout senior Oakley Hodges to come up with some big catches and keep the Hay Springs offense starting deep in their own territory with his booming kickoffs.
Game time is at 7 p.m. at Friday at Creek Valley High School in Chappell.
Warriors Open On Road Against Maywood-Hayes Center
The Leyton Warrior Football team opens the 2020 season on the road against the Maywood-Hayes Center Wolves, with a game time scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors remain in the 8-Man ranks, although they have delinked from Banner County. The Wolves have made the jump to 8-Man Football this year, so both teams will face the challenge of an unfamiliar opponent.
