Hand Sanitizer Donated to Area Outlets

Bulk hand sanitizer was donated to the Salvation Army in Sidney Monday morning. The donation is a result of Sean Blackburn of Blackburn Eye Clinic contacting Roger Berry of the Nebraska Ethanol Board to possibly donate hand sanitizer to area responders and places including the Salvation Army. Jerred Berner and Evan Parsons assisted in the transportation of the sanitizer.

"The state's willingness to expedite a supply to our area came as such a relief" noted Blackburn, "our business has been seriously impacted, as many by this outbreak." He continued, "Our team is being diligent toward keeping those patients we are able to help during this time as well as ourselves safe and hand sanitizer is of great importance with the CDC supporting hand washing efforts."

Several businesses have been contacted, such as Sidney Regional Medical Center that was given several gallons of the hand sanitizer to use in the facility.

A supply of the hand sanitizer has arrived to the clinic. Dr. Blackburn was able to work with other community members to distribute the hand sanitizer for FREE for those in need. The public is asked not to stop by the clinic due to the current limitations with social distancing. The dispensing will happen at the Salvation Army, simply bring a small, clean, empty container to 2032 Illinois St., in Sidney during their open hours.
