Fleming Sweeps Peetz

The Peetz Bulldog basketball teams hosted rival Fleming on Thursday night, and as expected the struggling Lady Bulldogs fell into a hole quickly against the powerhouse Lady Wildcats, trailing 37-to-12 at the end of the first half. Fleming dominated under the boards and created pressure and turnovers against the Lady Bulldogs for the entire game, eventually cruising to a lopsided 69-to-22 win. The loss drops the Lady Bulldogs down to 1-and-9 on the season while Fleming improved to 9-and-1.

The boy's game looked to be a more competitive contest, and started as a defensive struggle with both teams missing shots from the outside while getting their points from inside shots and layups. As the game progressed, the Wildcat's advantage in height and speed started to kick in, with both teams starting to hit from the outside while Fleming's defense started to clamp down.

A 13-to-13 score at the end of the first quarter gave way to a 26-to-22 advantage for the visitors, and the Bulldogs were unable to cut into the lead in the third quarter while Fleming continued to hit with seniors Braydon Williams and Dylan Nolde taking over the game. Peetz rallied in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 18-to-14, but Fleming had built a comfortable lead and finished the game with a 10 point victory, 50-to-40. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 6-and-4 on the season.
