Recognized for the December 2019 Performance Awards are:
7th Grade
Kanon Palmer
Kanon has been nominated as the 7th grade student of the month for December. Kanon is a strong academic student who often leads in the classroom by example. Kanon is always willing to assist others to understand problems and demonstrates the strong desire to learn by asking questions when he does not understand.
His responsibility in the classroom and his determination to excel, make him an outstanding student. Kanon is the son of Michael and Megan Palmer.
8th Grade
Luke Holly
Luke Holly has been chosen as Sidney Middle School's 8th grade Student of the Month for December. Luke has consistently displayed the qualities that we find desirable of a student representing Sidney Middle School. Not only does Luke excel in his academics, he also demonstrates strong leadership qualities with his classmates. He is always willing to constructively help his classmates and shows kindness when others falter.
Luke, without a doubt, is a hardworking, dedicated student. In our experience with Luke, he has been respectful to teachers and other students. His positive attitude, excellent work ethics, leadership, and patience with others make him an excellent choice for student of the month. Luke is the son of Heath and Jenna Holly.
9th Grade
Rheagan Stanley
Rheagan was nominated because of her Academic Performance & Classroom Effort/Attitude. Rheagan is an outstanding role model for her Algebra peers. She is engaged in the lesson, completes homework assignments on time with high scores, and will assist her classmates with their questions.
Not only has she done all of that, but overcame a lot of adversity with the loss of her brother. She was able to get completely caught up in Algebra and maintain her A average. Very proud of her and her dedication to her education! She participates in Volleyball, Basketball, Track, and Unified Raiders. She would like to become a Radiation Therapist after high school. Rheagan is the daughter of Jennifer Stanley & Korey Stanley.
10th Grade
Zoey Wright
Zoey was nominated for her Academic Performance, Classroom Effort/Attitude, Leadership/Service/Citizenship. Zoey performs extremely well during a class that struggles as a whole. She does a good job staying focused and consistently submits quality work on time. Additionally, she doesn't hesitate to help others and always has a positive attitude.
She is a member of the Cheer Team and Unified Raiders. One thing she enjoys doing is helping people and doing good in school. She also likes to read and watch movies about supernatural things. Some future plans are to go to UNL or UNK for college and study to become a social worker. Zoey is the daughter of Alex & Lacy Wright.
11th Grade
Kelsey Hoffman
Kelsey has been a great student all year. Her attitude and effort in the classroom is always positive and upbeat. Kelsey has been a great addition to our school. She is part of the Volleyball team and Upper Room Youth Group. She loves to study and just learn in general, and learn different perspectives on things. I plan on going to the University of Nebraska Lincoln to become a Dermatologist. I'm hoping one day I can open up my own clinic with my own skin care line. Kelsey is the daughter of Bryan & Amy Hoffman.
12th Grade
Shayla Schilz
Shayla was selected because of her academic performance, positive attitude, leadership in the classroom and on the Danz team. She has been a member of the Dance team - 4 years, S club - 4 years, science club - 1 year.
She is currently working at extended care as a domestic aide and would like to attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney and study to be a surgical nurse. Shayla is the daughter of Chris and Christina Schilz.
