Peetz Ends Season with Playoff Loss

Peetz’s Bulldog Football team ended their season Friday afternoon with a 73-to-7 loss in the first round of the CHSAA 6-Man State Football Playoffs to number one seeded Kit Carson.

The undefeated Wildcats made quick work of the Bulldogs, racking up 28 points in the first quarter and 32 points in the second quarter to build an insurmountable 60-to-7 lead. Peetz had no answers for a dominant defense that limited the Bulldogs to one pass completion for three yards, a touchdown pass from junior quarterback Scott Sorensen to junior receiver Aiden Curtis in the second quarter.

The Wildcat’s defense shut down the Peetz running game, limiting senior Cooper White to just 64 yards on 14 carries and senior Michael Turpin to 42 yards on 11 carries. The Wildcats made the Bulldogs fumble five times while losing only one fumble of their own.

The loss ends Peetz’s season with a 2-and-7 mark, 1-and-4 in league. The season started with two big wins over Weldon Valley and Otis, but a big loss on the road against Fleming turned the Bulldog’s season south, and they went winless through the rest of the campaign. Senior Cooper White led the team offensively, completing 19 of 57 passes for 560 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing 144 times for 1283 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Junior Nolan Hill had 22 receptions for 477 yards and 6 touchdowns, and led the defense with 100 total tackles on the season.
